Andrew McDonald revealed himself as "Player A" since it was already widely circulating he was in fact the unnamed player. McDonald was on the practice squad in 2012 after going undrafted and was waived by the team in the final preseason roster cuts. The tackle spent the 2013 season with the Carolina Panthers. According to Pro Football Talk, McDonald expressed his disappointment his name had been attached to the situation.

Brett Tessler, McDonald's agent, forwarded a statement to Pro Football Talk: 

The report stated McDonald was frequently subjected to homophobic name calling and actions, including being given a male blow-up doll as a Christmas gift when his teammates recieved female ones, and constant insults.
